Manage My Health is a Computer tool which Waimate Medical Centre is starting to use.
Once set up you will be able to look at your results and (as we become more adept at using the tool) – we will increasingly improve your access to your medial information. Electronic bookings and repeat prescription requests will also make life easier for you if you would like to use this
(Don’t worry, you will still be able to phone to book as usual if that is your preference).
Your Privacy is essential so we will need to talk to you if you would like to have Manage My Health. Pamphlets are available at reception. Just ask if you are interested.
Thank you to all our patients and visitors for continuing to work with us to minimise the spread of infections.
If there is a chance you have a viral infection, we are happy to see you, but we need your help to plan your appointment to ensure everyone's safety.
Please tell us when making your appointment if you suspect you have a cold or a viral infection or any of the following symptoms:
- Muscle aches and fatigue and loss of appetite (usually with fever or you may feel very cold)
- Cough / runny nose / sore throat
- A new rash associated with unwellness
- Loss of your sense of smell
We remain vigilant to ALL viral symptoms and appreciate you working with us for everyone's safety.
Flu vaccines – Influenza vaccines will soon be available and we will advertise this and the process for this soon.
Please select from the following options if you call us:
- Press 1 to speak to a receptionist
- Press 2 to leave a message if you need a repeat of your usual medication.
- Press 3 if you know the extension number for the person you want to reach.
- If leaving a message is too hard – just press 1 and a receptionist will help you.
Please try to request updates of your medications with at least a week to spare. We really appreciate having enough time to carefully organize your prescription.
When requesting a repeat prescription, we need you to speak clearly and to give us the following information:
- Your name and address
- The medication names you require. (If the word is complicated – it’s fine to spell it out)
- When you will need the prescription by
- Which pharmacy to send prescription to
We will text or call you once your prescription is completed with advice about how you can collect the prescription. If you don’t hear from us after 48 hours, please call us to check.
