This is essential to allow us to best meet your needs.
We are aware call volumes are high. Thanks so much for maybe calling back another time if you have a non-urgent query and could possibly call back again a little later.
We are changing the way we are doing things to reduce this “bottle neck”.
Our phones are changing with three options if you call in:
- Press 1 to speak to a receptionist
- Press 2 to leave a message if you need a repeat of your usual medication.
- Press 3 if you know the extension number for the person you want to reach.
- If leaving a message is too hard – just press 1 and a receptionist will help you.
When requesting a repeat prescription, we need you to speak clearly and to give us the following information:
- Your name and address
- The medication names you require. (If the word is complicated – it’s fine to spell it out)
We will text or call you once your prescription is completed with advice about how you can collect the prescription. If you don’t hear from us after 48 hours, please call us to check.
We’re avoiding handling cash to keep you and our staff safer.
We will text you our account details if we have your cell phone information and you have access to internet banking. Otherwise don’t worry…. we know where you are! But seriously – we’ll sort that out later – don’t worry.
A letter from Doctor Creegan
Thank you all so much for being so lovely, and for understanding the sudden change in how we are working. We have a very strange existence right now – with very few people other than staff in our building - but busier than we’ve ever been in our lives.
We’re hoping that talking to us on the phone is working OK for you. We miss seeing you! I’m sorry we can’t call every one of you and make personal contact. We’d love to do that but we are running with setting up our systems and altering the way we work to respond 100%.
We are aware that the single most important thing anyone is doing right now – is what you are all doing. Staying wrapped up in your bubbles at home is keeping us all safe. Bizarre to be heroic by staying at home – but that’s what you all are.
Changes in the way we work might feel strange and confusing but we are here to help you and we will guide you. We are trying hard to care for you whilst keeping you at home in your safe bubble. We WILL see you if that’s needed but really appreciate it if you call us first so we can make a plan with you.
We are carefully planning our influenza vaccine clinics. There are particular challenges this year to deliver this but we are confident you’ll love our flu vaccine clinics when we do them. We WILL be in contact with you in a week or 2 so you know when and where you can be vaccinated. The seasonal flu vaccination does not protect you against COVID 19 but is still important to protect people over 65 years and others with particular Medical conditions, from seasonal influenza.
Trust your local services. We are working closely with each other. Community Link has excellent support available. It’s very normal to feel uncertain, afraid and anxious right now. Relationships in your bubble may be under pressure. Consider the option of a support person calling you from Community Link. See their information in this publication.
